The Celsius to Fahrenheit Formula

Standard Formula

°F = ( °C × 9/5 ) + 32
°F = °C × 1.8 + 32
  • 1 Start with your temperature in Celsius
  • 2 Multiply by 9, then divide by 5 (or × 1.8)
  • 3 Add 32 to get the Fahrenheit result

Worked Example — 30°C

Step 1   30 × 9 = 270
Step 2   270 ÷ 5 = 54
Step 3   54 + 32 = 86°F ✓
Quick mental math: Double °C, subtract 10%, then add 32.
For 30°C: 60 − 6 + 32 = 86°F

Rough estimate: Double it and add 30.
30 × 2 + 30 = 90 (close to 86°F).
