Overview

Who we are and what this policy covers

UtilityEra ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website utilityera.com, a free online unit and currency conversion suite. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you visit our site.

By using UtilityEra you agree to the practices described here. If you disagree with any part of this policy, please discontinue use of the site.

Core commitment: Most converter inputs are processed locally in your browser. We do not intentionally collect the values you enter into converter tools unless clearly stated for a specific feature or service.
02

How We Use Data

The purposes for which collected data is processed

The limited data we collect is used exclusively for the following purposes:

  • Analytics & improvement — Understanding which converters are popular, how users navigate, and where we can improve performance or content.
  • Support correspondence — Responding to enquiries submitted via the contact form. Emails are stored securely and deleted within 90 days of resolution.
  • Newsletter — Sending product updates to subscribers who have explicitly opted in. You may unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.
  • Security & fraud prevention — Anonymised log data is used to detect abuse, DDoS patterns, and other security threats.
  • Legal compliance — We may process data to comply with applicable laws, court orders, or regulatory obligations.

We do not sell your personal data. If ads are shown on our site, advertising partners such as Google may process limited technical data, cookies, and consent signals for ad delivery, fraud prevention, and measurement in accordance with their policies.

04

Cookies & Local Storage

How we use browser storage technologies

We use a limited set of cookies and localStorage values. You can manage analytics and preference storage below. Where advertising consent is required, it should be handled through a dedicated consent banner or consent management platform.

Disabling analytics cookies only prevents counting your future visits. It does not delete previously collected aggregate statistics, as those contain no personally identifiable information.
05

Data Sharing

When and with whom we share information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share limited data only in the following narrow circumstances:

  • Infrastructure providers — Our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) processes request logs. Cloudflare's privacy policy governs that processing.
  • Email service — Contact-form submissions and newsletter emails are handled by our transactional email provider under a strict data-processing agreement.
  • Advertising partners — If ads are enabled on our site, Google AdSense and related partners may process limited technical information, cookies, and consent signals to serve and measure ads in accordance with their own policies.
  • Legal obligation — We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
  • Business transfer — In the event of a merger or acquisition, user data would be transferred subject to equivalent privacy protections and advance notice to affected users.
All third-party processors we engage are bound by Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) aligned with GDPR Article 28 and are prohibited from using your data for their own purposes.
06
